DIY Pimple Fighting Thyme Facial Toner!

Day 1 of my 30 Day Pin Challenge. Below is my pin of the day!
Courtesy of Crunchy Betty. Click this link for all of the information on fighting acne and blemishes with thyme
I have to admit I didn't think choosing a pin would be so difficult, but it was! It took me forever to just look through one board! I finally decided because I have not gone grocery shopping that my "Yummy Food" board and it's recipes were out, and that I would stick to supplies I currently own-- which is mostly ingredients for home made beauty products. So,  I decided to do something easy and practical...facial toner! This pin was about all the natural ways one can use thyme to fight facial acne and facial toner was one of the recipes. To be honest, my first thought was to make a facial mask with the thyme, but because it was 10:30pm at night (and I was sleepy), I decided that I probably should have started a little earlier....so facial toner it was! I am breaking out a bit right now, so I figured this would be perfect and I can actually incorporate it into my daily routine..... which is the whole point! Right?...Right? So here we go...

I had already purchased the ingredients to make this toner about a week and a half ago when I pinned this pin. But, of course had not gotten around to make anything out of it. This challenge is really kicking my butt into gear! Yay! Here is a list of what you need.

100% Natural Facial Thyme Toner
      Witch Hazel
       Thyme
       Small glass bowl, or bottle

I still thought I was doing a mask at the time this photo was take hence the Indian Clay
(which is pretty amazing by the way!!)

I am not even going to attempt to blog step by step directions on how to make this because it so easy...a caveman could do it. Actually they probably did do it. Seriously.  All you have to do is add the thyme to the bowl or bottle and sprinkle the thyme in. Let it sit for at least 20 minutes. This is why I didn't do a mask..I was planning on getting in the bed in 20 min, so no time (thyme...ha ha ha)  for letting clay sit on my face for another 20 min!

This is what it looked like while I was letting it steep for 20 min.
I had to pour mine in something else because I only wanted the liquid on my cotton pad, and not the thyme bits. A better idea is to strain the mixture into whatever you are going to use. I only made one use worth of toner for the night, so I will definitely do that next time.

My toner was light yellowish color, so all the good stuff had steeped for long enough (yes that is bar soap holder...haha it was really late.)!

After you let it sit, it should be a light yellow color. Grab a cotton ball or cotton pad and apply to your freshly washed face. It went on nicely. I didn't experience any harsh sensations. It was very smooth and smelled great! I really enjoyed my first pin challenge! I am excited for what comes next!

How True Are You to Your Pins?

Well, it's official. I am officially naming this blog a phase in my crazy life. This blog was a good try at actually sticking with something for longer than 1 week, but it too has failed. I have not written or posted a blog since Easter, and I feel like I have so much more to say and share.... But really, what is a good blog idea with no mojo or muse?  It's nothing. It's an idea in my head constantly being pushed back by other more important ideas that do have mojo---like making my own shampoo a couple of  weeks ago (which I should have blogged about!). Although, I did warn many of you that this may happen. I seem to have a theme in my life. I get extremely excited about something that I saw or heard somewhere (probably online as I am infamous for researching random crap on the internet and becoming crazy for it...just ask everyone I know), and then I get super obsessed about it for like a week and then I forget all about it. Literally, I forget I was even interested in it. People ask me about the thing  I was so into and I have no idea what they are talking about. Like the other day, for example, my Brother-in-Law Virgil, asks me about this blog. It took me almost 2 seconds to remember I had even started a blog, and then another half second to remember what the blog was even about. "Oh yea...that", I replied, "What about it?" I was shamed by my response because I remembered that this blog had so much promise...so much potential! Oh well, how does the saying go..."Another one bites the dust!" And, then I thought, NO! I will continue this blog. Because it's actually its not about the blog at all. It's about for the first time in my life actually seeing a hobby, resolution, extracurricular activity all the way to the end!!

Well all this thinking led me to another thought...Pinterest. Pinterest, for me anyway,  is the epitome of lots of ideas and no follow through. When I looked at my Pinterest profile, I realized I have pinned over 500 things!  I don't even recall pinning that often. I guess one pin leads to another and then another till you have pinned over 500 things of only God knows what. The very concept of Pinterest is supposed to be like cork board you keep on the wall. Something, that you look at daily so you can remember your current projects in your life. You are suppose to pin things that you will eventually incorporate into something real. Now, I understand some boards especially the futuristic ones such as weddings, future home inspirations aren't as easily incorporated into our daily lives--especially if you're single and or live at home with your parents... But, what about your food board, or your exercise board, or your craft board, or your fashion and beautify board? These boards are easily attainable for me and can be added to my daily or weekend routine. So, I have come up with a challenge that will keep me accountable with my blog and my pins! The challenge is called the 30 day Pinterest Challenge. I am going to vow to do one pin a day for 30 days. It will be a variety of recipes, outfits, my thoughts on an inspirational phrase, DIY crafts. This is going to super fun for the summer! Here we go ya'll! My first pin/blog will be tomorrow. :)

Why I Love Button Ups and You Should Too

I Love Button Up

I Love Button Up by fraziergirl featuring wedge shoes

If these were the only peices of clothing in my closet, I would never have to shop again. Okay, I would actually, but not for a very long time and only to purchase more button ups! I mentioned in my 10 Essentials for Spring post, that I have a slight obsession with button ups. So, now I am devoting an entire post to them to let button ups all over the world know how much they adored. I am probably getting carried away as a button up is shirt with buttons, not really a new invention and I am sure you have seen them before. They became super popular a couple of years ago when everyone was wearing plaid and pretending they were Carrie Underwood. Now, that the fad is over plaid buttons ups are still in, but so are regular button ups. And, I am not just talking about the ones you stick in a pencil skirt. I am talking about button ups that will change your life.  You can wear a button up with pretty much anything. I didn't have enough space on polyvore.com to make more outfits, but I definitely could. I mean, I really... really could.

How to Transfer Emails! WHO KNEW!?

I am going to start posting Who Knew blogs every Wednesday for Who Knew Wednesday! Enjoy!

So, if you're like me you only two email accounts. A real one for personal and work email; and a fake one for sweepstakes, retail websites, free software trials, and social media spam. I check the fake one about once a week because you never know what might be in there (and I don't want to miss a good sale). I check my real one every...well all the time. It's hooked up to my iPhone, and it's the only tab on my Google Chrome that I never exit out of. One reason for this, is my occupation. I am a Realtor, and I sell and list property for my clients. My clients think I am available to them at their disposal 24/7. And I admit I am. Real estate can be very intense. I get emails, text, and phone calls till about 9pm on an exciting day. I usually don't respond after 7:30pm unless the matter is incredibly important (which in real estate, if you are contacting me past 8 then it usually is). If you're not like me, then you have three email accounts because you have a separate one for work and personal email. And, let me tell you, that is a grand idea. It's probably a better idea then having to sort through tons of work emails to find a Parmesan chicken recipe your mom sent you over two weeks ago.  I don't know why, I didn't set up my emails this way. Well, actually that's a lie. I do. Once upon a time, I did have multiple email accounts for work, personal, and spam email. I had like 7. It was like I was addicted to setting up email accounts or something. It was very confusing. Emails were flying everywhere! Until one day, I thought this is ridiculous. Not to mention, I was getting complaints for non-responsiveness for emails I was receiving in an email accounts I forgot I had. Now, I like the thought of knowing where my emails are going to be at any point in time. If you are sending me an email, then I know where it is and how to log in (yes, 7 different emails means 7 different email addresses and passwords!)

That's 8,177 messages in one year...

So the purpose of the blog post right? Yes, I am getting to that. Because I combine both personal and work emails, my email capacity limit fills quite quickly. I reach my max about once a year. With that being said. Previously, I would just get a new email address and let everyone know. However, just recently when this happened, I didn't want to get a new email address. I quite enjoy my current email address. It didn't have numbers in it (which so annoys me when the sole purpose is that someone else has my desired email), and it said everything it needed to say. No random words, numbers, underscores, or periods. But, how was I going to keep it....that was the question. I thought, well I will create a new email address, and just move all of my old email in there. Why not delete them all you ask? Did I mention I was a Realtor? We keep ALL correspondence. I can't even put into words how necessary this is. You would be shocked at the number of misunderstandings there are, and you must be able to correct them quickly. There is no he say, she say in real estate.

Once, I created my back up email address, I tried forwarding my old emails there, but soon realized that that was a bad idea. I have a Gmail account and you cannot forward more than one email at a time. I don't know why I thought I could. It's funny the things you realize you can't do, until you know you can't do them isn't it? I was furious with the Gmail system. I thought how on earth are they prohibiting this functoin!??? But, then I realized that I can POP my email into my back up email address. DUH....What a great idea! Some email accounts only allow you POP email up to certain date, but Gmail let's you POP them all. I was so happy and relieved. It took about a week to the let system pop all 8,000 or so of my emails. I didn't originally intend on POPing them all, but it was going to take wayyyy to long to look through them all, and only pick out the super duper important ones.

Now, I figure that I am pretty techie person. I know enough to do some pretty cool things with computers, so I thought, if I didn't know you could do this...maybe there are other people like me who don't know about this yet either.  So, below you will find a step by step guide on popping your old emails into a new back up account, while keeping your current email address. I hope this helps!

How to POP Your Old Emails!!

1. Get a new email address. Yes, I know. The name part of it doesn't need to be super unique or special

2. Set your current email address to POP into your new account. Make sure you click to POP all old emails.

3. POP

4. Once you have POPed all of your emails, delete them from your current email.

5. Turn off POP.

6. And Wahla! A perfect CLEAN email account ready to receive all of your new emails.

Who knew!?

10 Essential Must Haves for Spring!

10 Essential Must Haves for Spring!

Spring is the time to blossom. It's the time to get started on your New Year Resolutions (again...), stop and smell the roses, enjoy the sunshine and the cool breeze. However, if you going to "Spring" into action then you must dress properly, and be prepared for the awesomeness that Spring brings! I know Spring officially began about a week ago, but I'd figure I'd let all you late bloomers know my Top 10 Must Have Essentials for Spring. You know what they say, it's never too late to look great!

1. Light Color/Pastel Blazer: I have to admit that  I have a small obsession with blazers. They were truly and seriously created for me...and you!  I can wear them with a dress, shorts, jeans, linen, tank tops, blouses, to work, to play, to date. The list goes on and on!  For the Spring, I like lighter colors  or pastels. I find that a pastel pink pretty much goes with everything.

2. Color Blocking Dress: Color Blocking is the name of the game if you haven't heard already. Color blocking when done correctly can look incredible. I chose this because it's bright and screams SPRING! I also like that the colors are still color blocked but similar enough to easily match with shoes, accessories, and outerwear.

3. Light Color/Pastel Pencil Skirt: Pencil skirts are cute in every situation. Get one in a nice light color that will compliment most of your tops. Khaki is also a great alternative. You can't go wrong.

4. Button Up Blouses: Okay, this is definitely my second obsession. Button ups are the epitome of versatility. This shirt can honestly go with anything. I can't even begin to tell you the pain I feel when I have to resist buying a really cute button up. It hurts. It hurts a lot. Pick up one (or many) in any color.

5. Ballet Flats: I love brightly colored ballet flats for the spring. On those lazy days when it's too cold wear sandals, a ballet flat always fits the bill. They will always compliment your outfit, and your hardworking feet will thank you from the high heel break!

6. Airy Blouses: With Spring comes the wind, and trust me you want to look great in the wind. This flowy blouse is perfect over leggings, in a pencil skit, and anything else. It also goes great under blazers and looks perfect with jeans and ballet flat. It's also great to own a blouse that is warm enough to wear without a jacket. It really helps simply things.

7. Jean Shorts: Not much to say here. Get some. I would go with a jean pair and then venture out to other styles as the wallet will allow.

8. Pastel Skinny Jeans: It's another must have trend for the Spring. Get a light color that will go with many things you already own. They are fun to wear, so accesorise accordingly and play around with them!

9. High Heel Wedges: I love wedges, they are great comfort wise, and there are so many styles available you really can't buy a bad pair!

10. Leather/Faux Leather Jacket: April flowers, really do bring May showers so be prepared! I live in California, so a big jacket is almost NEVER necessary here. Honestly, just driving from one city to the next will have you looking either to hot or too cold.  A warm casual leather jacket is great to have, and it will look great with everything!
